Pink Season

****************************

They call it Pink Season for a reason. A valid reason, trust me.

It starts in february/march when the plum trees let the beautiful flowers bloom, shy in the cold winter that goes to an end.

April and may are the months when the seasonal change is visible and tangible. Non only the temperatures start rising, not only the days get longer and the sky becomes blue, but also the blooming of million of plants keeps the nation in a hand, and the Japanese are harmless in front of such abundance of pink.

In april is the cherry trees at first, it's sometimes even in march when up and down across Japan one can spot pink.

Then, right when the cherry flowers disappear to make room for the green of the new leaves, the first flowers of azhalea show up. Till may the explosion of colors is just disturbing: white, pink, hot pink, red, purple. Had this not been enough, there are festivals all over the place celebrating sakura (cherry blossom), azaleas, hanami, etc.
