WIPHA days

*************

So much time has passed, or better, so much rain has fallen since a typhoon hit Tokyo directly. Most of the times, in facts, the city that never sleeps get only indirectly or tangentially influenced by the devastating effects of a tropical storm. It's worse in Okinawa, in general, so let's be happy about it.

Since yesterday, the threats of a typhoon aiming at Tokyo are reality, and companies are adopting extraordinary measures: employees are authorized to leave earlier the evening before or come later the morning after. WIpha, typhoon number 26 in 2013 is expected to hit Tokyo early morning on Wednesday, and that translates into sleep in with the boss' goodwill.

Leaving home this morning was tough already, because of the grey clouds that later brought rain from midday. Soon after that, we could spot people in work uniforms, with helmets and other tools, walking outside our windows and building screens so that in case strong winds threw stuff against the glass, it shouldn't break. Let's hope for good. Everyone seems to be quite concerned about Wipha, that seems to show no signs of weakening while it advances.

I think the plants I usually keep on the balcony will have to sleep inside. Tonight I guess I can easily get myself a bottle of nice wine, buy cheese and smoked salmon, some nice bread and...dinner is served! Indulging in drinking is allowed, considering that no alarm will have to be set for tomorrow morning.
