Christmas dinner at Marinas

************

One dinner down, one more to go. Office Christmas party archived, it is time for this year's Christmas dinner at Marina's. Twelve guests were expected, guests who warmed my place with their good moods and personality.

I thought about presents this year, too. Nothing special nor personalized, since I didn't have any clues about what to buy each of them, I rather thought about a small token to thank my friends for attending and to leave them with a little memory of the evening. And also, a Christmas tree with presents looks much nicer than one without.

Preparing everything this time was a bit tougher, because Christmas fell on a Wednesday and I didn't take any holidays the whole week. The weekend before, at least, was three days long and I could do my shopping, organize and decorate the house and think of all details a bit in advance. On the day of the dinner, I simply left the office a few hours earlier, changed into party dress and I waited for my guests while taking care of some appetizers (prepare, not eat them!).

It wasn't only Christmas. It was also a colleague's birthday so that we had one more excuse to celebrate and be marry.

About the menu, I actually have to thank my guests who really brought a lot, ensuring that the table was never empty. In addition to Italian dishes, we had stuff from Iran and Turkey, and much more. I cooked pasta with mushroom that didn't turn out as good as it should have, but I blame the lack of a proper kitchen. When one has a miniature version of a kitchen, handling space, tools and food quantity is rather challenging….

Anyhow, we had food enough to be able to repeat the day after (and the day after that too…) at lunch, in the office. It was really nice. And felt a lot like family.

I think the Christmas evening went well, and I hope everyone is left with mice memories.

December 25th was the longest day of the year, but worth the efforts.
